PSY498 - Seminar on Jungian Psychology

Explores the creation and development of C. G. Jung’s analytical psychology over the course of Jung’s life (1875-1961) and beyond, into the present day. Examines the development and evolution of key Jungian psychological concepts including (but not limited to): archetypes, complexes, symbols, the collective unconscious, individuation, the Self, shadow, anima/animus, psychological types, synchronicity, and the psychoid. Uses Jungian and post-Jungian primary source material, as well as dreams, myths, art, active imaginations, and typological assessments to illuminate Jungian theory. (3 credits)
